Founded in 2015 by Tuky Ibarra, Cuba512 has grown into a staple of Austin’s dining and cultural landscape, known for its authentic Cuban fare and warm hospitality. “This celebration was for every person who ever walked through our doors and felt at home,” said Ibarra. “Ten years ago, we had a dream to bring the heart of Havana to Austin. Today, we’re still living it.”
The anniversary evening opened with free salsa lessons that quickly gave way to a packed dance floor, energized by live performances from the Latin Dukes, whose blend of salsa, rumba, and flamenco pop kept the crowd moving late into the night. At the heart of the evening was the return of Purple Jam, a cultural conversation series hosted by Twelvenets.
